SL5's Catherine Bond was interviewed by Sky News last week, about her IPP client, Andy Logan.
Catherine has represented Andy since 2009. He has been subject to recall on six occasions. Catherine has represented him on each recall. Two recalls were found unjustified by the Parole Board. One of the recalls was found unjustified at MCA, and release redirected on the papers, though probation opposed release.
Catherine has continually fought to minimise the harm done to Andy by the repeated recalls by securing his release at the earliest opportunity. This has included two successful Rule 21 applications.
Sadly, the IPP has had a significant impact on Andy. He is currently awaiting his IPP termination. We sincerely hope that this will be successful and Andy can start to rebuild his life.
You can watch Andy and Catherine being interviewed by Sky News' journalist, Jason Farrell, in the video above, and read Jason's complete article, entitled Abolished indefinite prison sentences still in place - despite prisoner numbers approaching pre-release scheme levels.
